VA Loans from Freedom Financial Services

Freedom Financial Services values servicemen and women, their hard work and continual sacrifice. In fact, the founder and CEO of Freedom Financial Services (FFS), Roy Clennan moved to Colorado Springs in 1995 following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force and went on to set up Freedom’s headquarters there in 1997. Today, with several military installations nearby, Freedom is especially positioned--and proud--to serve the military community.

If you’re a U.S. military veteran, and need a home loan from someone who is trustworthy, accessible and knowledgeable, consider Freedom, which is also:

  • VA-and FHA-approved (mortgage companies maintain high standards in order to be qualified to issue these loans).
  • A direct lender, and therefore able to offer more options, and qualify you faster and easier.

What is a VA Loan?

The Veterans Administration created the VA loan program to help support the financing needs of U.S. military veterans and their spouses. VA loans are especially critical when these families are unable to qualify in other loan products.

A VA loan is one of the only loan programs that still allow the borrower to finance 100% of the purchase price, up to $417,000.00, with $0 down. Conventional loans require 5% of the purchase price as a down payment and FHA loans require 3.5% for a down payment. Also, VA loans do not require private mortgage insurance (PMI) and more have more relaxed credit qualifications than conventional loans.

Do I qualify for a VA loan?

To determine if you qualify, go to the VA’s general rules for eligibility for veterans, and for surviving spouses of a veteran (who died during service or as result of a service disability). There are eligibility requirements for un-remarried spouses as well as remarried spouses.
